Rising Rain Studios LLC, formerly Ben Bartholomew Photography and Design, offers a wide variety of services including photography, graphic design, web development, and system analysis & architecting. We have been serving clients across the states and internationally since 2001.

Why the change to "Rising Rain"

The name is a reflection of our philosophy in that we strive to think out of the box in a logical way. Take the common phrase "What goes up, must come down" as a pattern for our reasoning. While rain always falls by conventional logic, water must evaporate and rise in order to fall back down as rain. Granted that evaporating water is not called rain, it nevertheless does occur.

Aside from the name, the change is from a sole-proprietorship to a limited liability company. The change will help support the type of growth we are experiencing and serve as a better vehicle for future ventures that we are undertaking.

Our Philosophy

Like architecture, design must be functional. Design does not fulfill its purpose simply by being pretty or visually appealing if it is arbitrary. Design elements must have a reason for being there, serve the development of the desired look and feel, and work correctly. A professional-looking web site that is not functional is not well designed and visa versa.

We feel that it is important to take design outside of the box while maintaining high standards of appearance and functionality. Creativity is never for the sake of creativity alone. It serves to find innovative solutions and alternatives to further our client's visions.

Our Staff

BEN BARTHOLOMEW, CEO

Ben Bartholomew began his career as a freelance photographer and designer in 2000 while in middle school. In 2002, he started Ben Bartholomew Photography & Design while attending high school where he was Salutatorian of his graduating class, Editor-and-chief of the yearbook, President of the ballroom dance team, Business & Marketing Sterling Scholar, and the Media Specialist of the National Honor Society. While still in high school, Ben graduated from Utah Valley State College (now Utah Valley University) with an Associate's Degree in Integrated Studies (focus on web development). Ben studied art for a time at the University of Utah and is now majoring in Business and Accounting and anticipates obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in December 2008.

In 2007, Ben held a position as an Account Manager at Horizon West Management, Utah's leading escrow auditing firm, until leaving to better focus on his studies at the University of Utah and found Rising Rain Studios. Ben is also a consultant of Strategic Applications International.

Ben loves to golf and competes nationally in ballroom dance competitions in the International Standard division. This includes the Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, and Quickstep.
